Description
This book had its origin as a series of short notes prepared by Mr WL Le Roux and published in the Journal of the Mine Ventilation Society.
These ‘Notes for Beginners’ were first compiled into book form in 1970 and since then, updates and numerous additional notes have been added in order to keep pace with the expanding responsibilities of mine ventilation practitioners
. Now in its fifth edition, the book has maintained its original intent of presenting theoretical and practical aspects of mine ventilation in a concise and understandable progression.
It carefully guides readers from basic understanding of mine ventilation principles to the complex theory and practice that describes the profession, and is an invaluable text for beginners as well as a tremendous aide-memoire for experienced mine ventilation practitioners.
